Now, the recordings from the event are available. About 60 people joined us at CityLAB Berlin\u2019s marvellous 1920s former airport space for the evening. We heard from 3 speakers in 3 talks and a subsequent panel discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event description said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Governments and public sector organisations worldwide have built up in-house capability to transform in the digital age. With many international colleagues coming to Berlin for Creative Bureaucracy Festival, we hear in short talks about the digital transformation work underway on 3 continents.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Kicking things off, Paloma Jain, Senior User Researcher at the UK\u2019s Government Digital Service (GDS), spoke about the factors for digital transformation \u2013 from an international perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignwide is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Factors for digital transformation \u2013 from an international perspective\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HPfyUdJ87IU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Kara Kane, Head of Design Profession at GDS, gave a shortened version of <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/presentation\/d\/1JSaghYxi21tcjtLfkJFAvyMlb6yLKSGYyvkLkan87Y4\/edit\">a talk she recently gave at UX Scotland<\/a>. Kara spoke about community power and how communities of practice can make your work and working life better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignwide is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Community power: How communities of practice can make your work and working life better \u2013 Kara Kane\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4jccOQ4-2W0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As the third and final speaker, Laurence Berry, also formerly of GDS and now founder and director of Komo International, spoke about developing global design patterns for better public services for all. He presented his work as part of the multinational GovStack project developed in conjunction with the German GIZ and the UN\u2019s ITU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignwide is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Developing global design patterns for better public services for all \u2013 Laurence Berry\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PJCzjeX3qds?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After the 3 talks and a few questions after each, we spent some 25 minutes discussing the theme of the evening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, the meetup received very positive feedback with a full 5-star rating on meetup.com. Last week, we ran a retrospective and outlined two more events for autumn and winter.
