That seems to be a sensible thing to do from now on. This is because we want to share our learnings internationally while, of course, foremost trying to transform German public administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My colleague Sarah, a senior product manager, asked me for it and offered the following phrase as input: \u201cDo not run straight to the solutions\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the last few weeks, I shared some drafts; she provided feedback. And we arrived at 2 versions in different colours with short texts explaining how we work: Problems first, solutions second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-h-3-font-size wp-block-heading\">Continuing the international exchange and sharing with others<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The poster received kind feedback on social media. The most considerate comment came from my former colleague Mark, GOV.UK\u2019s ex-Head of Graphic Design, using the word \u201cgorgeous\u201d. ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While many essential posters have already been created at GDS, some seem still to be missing. They describe ways of working through 3 pillars, 9 principles and 68 sub-principles. It\u2019s a good remix of many familiar aspects with little novelty, but having it played back to us by an influential multilateral organisation can be helpful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session also included some facts about the overall state of public service design in OECD countries and it\u2019s so great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Only about 50% of OECD member and partner countries involve users when developing digital public services. There is no way for us to do similar things just yet, but there must still be better ways of gathering data for German public services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIn 2021, 32 % of French adults stopped in the middle of a digital public service.\u201d<br>\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/design_gouv?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@design_gouv<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marineboudeau?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MarineBoudeau<\/a> knows and can share this data because <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/_DINUM?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@_DINUM<\/a> has been collecting it across hundreds of services in past years, as presented in the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OPSIgov?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@OPSIgov<\/a> webinar today <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qaotnS7Bde\">pic.twitter.com\/qaotnS7Bde<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Martin Jordan ? ? @martinjordan@mastodon.social (@Martin_Jordan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Martin_Jordan\/status\/1590000575030382597?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 8, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Conference season is fully on. After returning from London, there was <a href=\"https:\/\/worldusabilityday.org\/\">World Usability Day<\/a>, and the UK Design Council ran its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designcouncil.org.uk\/our-mission\/design-for-planet-1\/design-for-planet-festival-2022\">Design for Planet festival<\/a> for the second time. We also had a sudden change of content for next week\u2019s virtual <a href=\"https:\/\/rosenfeldmedia.com\/civic-design-2022\/\">Civic Design conference<\/a>. My colleague Stephanie, our Chief Product Officer, dropped out, and Magdalena, our Head of Product, stepped in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the proposal we submitted back in May, the talk is titled \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/rosenfeldmedia.com\/civic-design-2022\/sessions\/zero-hour-how-to-get-far-quickly-when-starting-your-digital-service-unit-late\/\">Zero Hour: How to get far quickly when starting your digital service unit late<\/a>\u2019. As Magdalena is a great communicator and presenter, I have little to do. It will be a talk reflecting on various learnings from the last 2 years. It\u2019s part of a conference segment my international community and book collaborator Kara has been curating, and it looks excellent regarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing that exploded on social media this week was our book club stickers. It will run over 2 days in Boppen, in the southwest of Germany, in a region known for its excellent wine.
