Talk: Better service design through digital-ready legislation

At Service Design Drinks Berlin, Sabrina Feuerherd, designer at the Federal government’s DigitalService, talked about designing better services by changing how laws are made.

Her working thesis is that user-centred digital services require digital-ready laws requiring digital-ready legislation. Legislators need to work with digital service delivery in mind to enable that.

She and her team have created 5 cornerstones for legislators to use. Following her talk, participants could use the cornerstones to how a fictional law around a dog registers could consider digital service delivery from the start.
