Week #216 at the Digital Service: Notes for 15–19 June

Martin was away for 2 days at a leadership offsite during his week 216 at Digital Service. He participated in the annual salary cycle workshop and received useful training. He also got a blog post about the delivery principles published, and interviewed more candidates for open roles.

Week #214 at the Digital Service: Notes for 1–5 June

In his week 214 at Digital Service, Martin co-presented at the CityLAB Summer Conference on ‘Services that work and build trust’. He also co-hosted an evening meetup on ‘Money and taxes’, worked on service design training and spoke to Norwegian colleagues.

Week #212 at the Digital Service: Notes for 19–22 May

In a packed week, Martin supported Global Accessibility Awareness Day activities. He published a new blog post on progress in accessibility. He also witnessed the launch of a new resource and the extension of a tool. On Sunday, he also joined UX Camp Europe to give a talk.

Week #211 at the Digital Service: Notes for 11–15 May

Martin worked a shorter week due to a public holiday, but then used that day to meet with a colleague in Latvia to compare notes. He also interviewed more candidates, made staffing decisions, and worked on a new blog post on accessibility efforts.

Meetup: Visualising data

At the 11th edition of the local Berlin public sector innovation meetup ‘Öffentliches Gestalten’, 2 speakers shared their views on visualising data. Moritz Stefaner showed his data visualisation work for the German government. Ha Thanh Thu Nguyen presented a research project on data linked to facial recognition technology.

Meetup: Public Service Design

At Service Design Drinks Berlin, designers Charlotte Vorbeck and Marlene Kettner from German government’s Digital Service spoke about their specific work on justice services and open justice data platforms.

Event: Design for policy

In June 2024, members of the International Design in Government community came together in Berlin to discuss ‘Design for policy’. The recorded inputs are now available.
