Week #203 at the Digital Service: Notes for 16–20 March
In week 203, Martin spent half of it in London. He met with various former colleagues and other curious minds to discuss cross-silo service transformation, the use of AI in service design, and working in the open. He wrote more proposals for talks and a journal.
Week #202 at the Digital Service: Notes for 9–13 March
In week 202 at Digital Service, Martin helped with facilitating a 2-day workshop on service quality criteria with cross-government colleagues. He also wrote conference submissions and discussed new guidance, blog posts and a citizen survey.
Week #201 at the Digital Service: Notes for 2–6 March
Martin kicked off several initiatives during his week #201 at Digital Service, including new guidance, new websites, a support hotline, a blog post, and a white paper. He participated in another Service Standard introduction workshop and attended official events on AI and digital transformation.
Week #200 at the Digital Service: Notes for 23–27 February
Celebrating 200 weeks at Digital Service, Martin advertised a new permanent content designer role. He also handled the paperwork for bringing in a content design freelancer and worked on the user-centred design discipline family.

Martin participated in a full-day citizen workshop on Saturday in week 199 at Digital Service. He also saw some great improvements to servicestandard.gov.de go live.
Week #198 at the Digital Service: Notes for 9–13 February
Martin participated in a federal-level government branding and design workshop in his week 198 at Digital Service. He provided input to the D-Stack consultation process, cleared a white paper, discussed a government trust survey and witnessed great small improvements to the Service Standard website.
Week #197 at the Digital Service: Notes for 2–6 February
Service Standard work continued in Martin’s week 197, with more guidance published, more interaction design and content support arriving, and service quality work soon involving citizen workshops. Martin also completed service design interviews and is now preparing another role opening.
Week #196 at the Digital Service: Notes for 26–30 January
Martin spoke with representatives from several states and larger municipalities who were curious about the Service Standard. He also participated in 3 separate 2026 planning and roadmapping sessions – with teams and the design & user research discipline leadership team.
Week #195 at the Digital Service: Notes for 19–23 January
Kicking off 2026 for the user research sub-discipline, Martin participated in a half-day onsite to look back and ahead. In week #195, he also co-facilitated a 2-day workshop on a substantial Service Standard extension with colleagues from all levels of government and from across Germany.
