Martin’s week 169 at Digital Service was a packed one. He co-ran an offsite day for the delivery disciplines, participated in the first peer review against the new Service Standard, and joined a workshop on the new cross-government umbrella brand.

In week 168 at Digital Service, Martin put out a celebratory Service Standard cake that was gone in no time. He also participated in an exploratory workshop about a possible new project, and he has some reflections on assistive technology and the state of digital healthcare.

In week 167, Martin spent two days on a leadership offsite to review 6-month objectives and develop new ones. He also met with colleagues at the federal accessibility monitoring unit to understand how they can collaborate.

At the end of week 166, Martin co-led the annual summer pub quiz. During the week, he co-ran an interactive cross-government session of the new Service Standard and helped share user-centred service approaches with senior ministerial stakeholders.

In week 165 at the Digital Service, Martin participated in a panel on accessibility, met with the Head of User Experience Design of the EU Digital Identity Wallet project, and celebrated the decision that the Service Standard receives its legal instrument.

Martin spent quite a bit of his week 164 outside the office. He joined an accessibility event at Google Berlin and participated in a cross-government sync on design pattern libraries.

In week 163, Martin joined discussions with ministerial stakeholders on the ongoing Service Standard and the umbrella brand work. He participated in an expert interview with a former 18F researcher while his colleagues published a blog post about professionalising the user research profession at Digital Service.

The Creative Bureaucracy Festival took place again. Martin co-ran an international workshop on ‘design for policy’ and accompanied the launch of the updated Service Standard.
